Locanda Di San Martino Hotel & Thermae Romanae Matera, Matera

Staying at this hotel was an unforgettable experience. The rooms were not only comfortable and beautiful but also large enough to accommodate all four of us comfortably. Plus, having a stove, fridge, and microwave made it even more convenient. However, the dining options left something to be desired. The service, on the other hand, was a mix of sympathy and helpfulness with a slight hint of briskness. The location was a dream come true, being right in the heart of the sassi with stunning views and easy access to great restaurants. Overall, a wonderful stay with just a few minor drawbacks.

The location, right within the heart of Matera in actual cave houses, was physically challenging yet incredibly cool. The dining experience, although lacking some warmth in food choices, offered a good variety and was served in a fascinating cavernous dining room.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very clean with lovely solid wood furniture, but I encountered a slight hiccup with the hotel not informing us about a service we requested. The location is excellent, right in the historic center, but it was difficult to find with luggage in extreme heat.
